/Challenge

DMart customers often face delays at multiple points during their in-store journey- from weighing fresh produce, to long checkout queues, and final security checks. These friction points lead to frustration, wasted time, and an overall inefficient shopping experience. In a world where convenience is key, the challenge was to streamline the entire billing process that reduces waiting and empowers users with greater control.

To address delays across billing, weighing, and security checkpoints, we designed a smart self-checkout system integrated into the shopping cart. This solution allows users to:

  • Scan items as they shop

  • Weigh fresh produce directly on the cart interface

  • Make digital payments without standing in queues

  • Generate a QR code for quick security clearance at the exit
